Look, let’s be real — we’re all pretending Thanksgiving is about family, gratitude, football, and pretending not to hate whoever double-dipped in the mashed potatoes.
But in America?
Thanksgiving is the runway… and Christmas is the jumbo jet taking off at full throttle.
And we’re absolutely here for it.
So when Macy’s decided to crank the holiday energy to maximum voltage by adding Conan Gray to the 2025 Thanksgiving Day Parade performer list, we basically cheered loud enough to scare the neighbors.
(Full disclosure: many of us at Static Live already have our Christmas lights up… and by “many,” we mean Shane, who is currently listening to a three-hour Christmas ambience mix while editing this article. Zero shame. Maximum jingle.)

Conan Gray: From Wishbone to Wishbone-Breaking Thanksgiving Icon
Conan Gray is joining the parade just months after dropping his critically loved album Wishbone, which climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard 200 thanks to singles like “This Song” and “Vodka Cranberry.”
Because nothing says “holiday spirit” like a sad indie-pop masterpiece named after the thing you fight your sibling over right before dessert.
He’ll be performing on 34th Street in NYC, right in front of the iconic Macy’s storefront — the same place millions of Americans point at every year and say:
“Oh look, that’s where the balloons almost hit the light poles that one time.”
And if that’s not enough, Conan is also starring in a new Macy’s “Holiday Gift Hotline” commercial alongside Baker Mayfield, John O’Hurley, and Alison Brie.
Because the only thing more American than Thanksgiving football…
…is aggressively last-minute holiday shopping.
