Muse Launch New Album The WOW! Signal Into Space — Cosmic Rock Legends Return With Out-Of-This-World Announcement

Muse Launch New Album The WOW! Signal Into Space

🚀 Muse Literally Launch Their New Album Announcement Into Space — Because Subtlety Is For Acoustic Duos

Some bands drop teasers.

Muse launches tablets into the upper atmosphere.

The global alt-rock juggernauts have officially announced their tenth studio album The WOW! Signal, arriving June 26 via Warner Records, and they did it in the most Muse way possible — by partnering with aerospace group Sent Into Space to send new music 33 kilometers above Earth. Because apparently a press release wasn’t dramatic enough.

The band premiered their explosive new single “Be With You” mid-flight, alongside limited-edition vinyl sticker payloads for fans. Somewhere between science experiment and arena-rock marketing flex, Muse continues proving they exist in their own cinematic universe.

🌌 A Cosmic Concept Album With Actual Cosmic Commitment

The album title references the legendary 1977 “Wow! Signal,” a mysterious radio burst from deep space that scientists still can’t fully explain. Naturally, Muse heard that story and thought, “Perfect… let’s build a rock album around existential alien contact.”

Lead single “Be With You” opens with haunting church-organ tones before detonating into a fusion of synth-driven urgency and stadium-ready guitar chaos. Matt Bellamy’s signature vocal theatrics glide somewhere between apocalypse sermon and intergalactic love letter. You know… typical Tuesday for Muse.

The cinematic video — directed by Nico Paolillo — stars Ella Balinska navigating a surreal night sky dominated by a glowing red lunar halo. It’s unsettling, beautiful, slightly terrifying and undeniably Muse.

🏆 A Legacy Written In Stadium Lights And Number One Albums

This new era follows 2022’s Will Of The People, which became the band’s seventh consecutive UK No. 1 album.

Casual reminder: maintaining that level of chart dominance while experimenting with operatic rock, electronica, political themes and space mythology is not exactly easy.

Across their career, Muse has collected:

  • 2 Grammy Awards
  • Multiple BRIT Awards
  • A reputation for some of the most explosive live performances on the planet
  • Global hits like “Uprising,” “Starlight,” “Supermassive Black Hole,” and “Madness.”

In other words, they’re not just a band. They’re a full-scale audio invasion.

🧛 Twilight, Vampires, And A Mutual Inspiration Loop

One of the more fascinating chapters in Muse mythology involves Twilight author Stephenie Meyer, who openly credited the band’s music as a major influence while writing the novels. Bellamy and company later returned the favor by channeling themes inspired by Meyer’s universe into their own creative direction.

It’s a rare example of a feedback loop where literature influences music… which then influences the culture surrounding the literature. Somewhere in there, millions of teenagers discovered both vampire romance and progressive arena rock. Strange timelines create powerful fanbases.

🔊 Why This Album Feels Important

With track titles like “Nightshift Superstar,” “Cryogen,” and “Space Debris,” The WOW! Signal promises another genre-bending trip into Muse’s obsession with technology, isolation, rebellion and whatever else keeps Bellamy staring dramatically at the sky.

Their sound remains ridiculously contagious — equal parts futuristic panic attack and adrenaline therapy. Personally, I’m counting down the days to hear how this thing explodes in a live setting. Muse albums aren’t just listened to. They’re experienced like controlled sonic detonations.
