Queen’s Roger Taylor Announces New Solo Album “Violence Insane In A Beautiful World”

Queen’s Roger Taylor Announces New Solo Album

Reminds Us Why Queen’s Legacy Still Matters

There are legendary bands.

Then there’s Queen.

A band so influential that somewhere, right now, in almost every country on Earth, somebody is singing the wrong lyrics to “Bohemian Rhapsody” with absolute confidence.

And honestly?

That’s beautiful.

If we’re being truthful, I don’t think we’ve given Queen nearly enough attention here at Static Live. That’s our mistake. Few bands have left a larger footprint on music history, and even fewer have managed to remain relevant across multiple generations.

Now, Queen drummer, songwriter, vocalist, and all-around rock legend Roger Taylor is stepping back into the spotlight with the announcement of his seventh solo album, Violence Insane In A Beautiful World, arriving September 18.

And after everything Queen has given the world, we’re more than happy to pay attention.

First, A Moment for Freddie Mercury

Before we go any further…

Let’s take a brief moment of silence for Freddie Mercury.

One of the greatest frontmen in music history.

A vocalist whose range, charisma, and stage presence remain unmatched decades after his passing.

The world misses Freddie.

Music misses Freddie.

And while nobody could ever replace him, Queen’s surviving members have continued carrying the torch with remarkable dignity and passion.

Queen’s Legacy Is Almost Impossible to Measure

Trying to summarize Queen’s accomplishments is like trying to summarize the internet.

Where do you even begin?

The band has sold hundreds of millions of records worldwide and produced some of the most recognizable songs ever recorded:

  • Bohemian Rhapsody
  • We Will Rock You
  • We Are The Champions
  • Another One Bites The Dust
  • Somebody To Love
  • Radio Ga Ga
  • Don’t Stop Me Now

Their accolades include:

  • Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award
  • Induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
  • Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music
  • Multiple UK Number One singles
  • One of the best-selling music catalogs in history

And somehow, despite all those accomplishments, their music continues to find new audiences every year.

Roger Taylor’s New Album Brings Optimism During Chaotic Times

Taylor’s upcoming album, Violence Insane In A Beautiful World, explores a theme many people can relate to:

The world is beautiful.

The world is also a complete mess.

Sometimes simultaneously.

Taylor has described the project as a reflection on global conflict, environmental concerns, political division, and the importance of kindness.

Which, frankly, feels like a pretty reasonable message in 2026.

The album isn’t presented as a concept record, but the songs are connected by a shared thread:

Appreciate the beauty.

Try not to destroy it.

Simple concept.

Humanity continues struggling with that second part.

“Come On Summer (It’s Party Time)” Leads the Way

The album’s first single, Come On Summer (It’s Party Time), features South Africa’s acclaimed Ndlovu Youth Choir.

Fans may remember the choir from their viral Zulu-language interpretation of Queen’s iconic Bohemian Rhapsody, a performance that introduced millions of viewers to their incredible talent.

According to Taylor, the collaboration brought an entirely new dimension to the songs.

And honestly, if you’re going to connect your new album to Queen’s legacy, involving a choir famous for covering Bohemian Rhapsody feels like a pretty smart move.

A Tribute to Great Songwriting

The album will also feature Taylor’s interpretation of John Lennon’s “Jealous Guy.”

Taylor has called it one of the greatest ballads ever written.

Hard argument to dispute.

When musicians of this caliber pay tribute to other legendary songwriters, it’s usually worth paying attention.

Cosmic Timing and NASA Coincidences

One of the more interesting stories surrounding the album involves its cover art.

The artwork reportedly depicts Earth from the perspective of an alien observer.

While finalizing the design, NASA’s Artemis II mission happened to capture remarkably similar imagery from the far side of the Moon.

According to Taylor, Queen fans working within NASA reached out and described the timing as “kismet.”

Which honestly sounds like exactly the kind of cosmic coincidence Roger Taylor would appreciate.

UK Tour Announced

To support the release, Taylor will embark on a short run of UK dates this September.

The tour includes performances in:

  • Newcastle
  • Edinburgh
  • Birmingham
  • Manchester
  • London
  • Swansea

These will reportedly be his only UK performances of 2026.

Roger Taylor Continues to Prove His Musical Depth

When people think of Queen, they naturally think of Freddie Mercury.

And rightfully so.

But Roger Taylor has always been much more than “the drummer.”

He’s a songwriter.

A vocalist.

A producer.

A creative force who helped shape some of the most important music ever recorded.

This new album offers another opportunity for fans to appreciate that side of his artistry.

And if it gives us even a glimpse of the musical brilliance that helped build Queen’s legacy, we’re absolutely here for it.
