RÜFÜS DU SOL Make Electronic Tour History — 1.5 Million Fans, a Grammy Nod & an Unstoppable Rise

RÜFÜS DU SOL MAKE HISTORY WITH HIGHEST-SELLING ELECTRONIC TOUR OF ALL TIME

RÜFÜS DU SOL MAKE HISTORY WITH HIGHEST-SELLING ELECTRONIC TOUR OF ALL TIME

(And yes… we are openly swooning.)

Let’s get one thing out of the way: I love RÜFÜS DU SOL. Like… really love them.

The kind of love where you throw on their Live From Joshua Tree performance “just for background music”… and suddenly your entire soul is levitating somewhere above the Tomoka River. That performance? Pure desert-drenched wizardry. It slays. It always slays. And it’s basically the unofficial soundtrack of my house at this point.

So when news dropped that RÜFÜS DU SOL just pulled off the highest-selling electronic tour of all time, we didn’t gasp — we nodded like, “Yeah… that tracks.”

The Grammy-winning Australian trio was honored in Sydney this week with a giant plaque celebrating their Inhale / Exhale World Tour, which sold a staggering:

  • 750,000 headline tickets,
  • 1.5 million fans total,
  • and a whole lot of stunned venue managers wondering how an electronic act suddenly outsold their rock legends.

Across nearly 50 headline shows on four continents, the band basically said:

“We love electronic music — and also, we’ll take every arena you’ve got. Thanks.”

Australia & New Zealand: Total Annihilation Mode

The Down Under leg was so massive it bordered on disrespectful.

Every city — Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland — sold out.

They even became the highest-selling Australian act ever at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena and shattered Auckland’s attendance record with 25,000 fans at Outer Fields.

All electronic. All them. No features. No openers carrying the weight.

Take notes, everyone.

Chart Love & Award Season Glory

Their fifth studio album not only earned a 2026 Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album… it also gave them their first U.S. Dance Radio No. 1 with “Music Is Better.”

A well-deserved flex.

Meanwhile, back in 2025, they stacked up four ARIA nominations while still selling tickets like they were printing money onstage.

Stadiums, Festivals & “Legacy Act” Energy

Here’s the part that’s wild: RÜFÜS DU SOL are now playing venues usually reserved for artists who have been selling out since the Clinton administration.

They became the first electronic act ever to headline Los Angeles’ Rose Bowl — which is the kind of thing you brag about for the rest of your career or until you break another record… which they probably will.

They also lit up Lollapalooza, global arenas, and basically any continent with a functioning sound system.

2026: The World Tour That Never Sleeps

Because touring juggernauts don’t rest — they reload.

New arenas? Yep:

  • London’s O2
  • Paris’ Adidas Arena
  • Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi
  • Dublin, Dusseldorf, Bologna

Then South America. Then Europe again.

They’re everywhere except your kitchen sink — for now.
