🍹 Zac Brown & Margaritaville Launch Talent Search — Musicians, This Might Be Your Weirdest Gig Opportunity Yet
Some people grind it out in dive bars.
Others accidentally end up playing acoustic sets on a Caribbean cruise ship backed by a billion-dollar beach lifestyle brand.
Welcome to 2026 live music reality.
Margaritaville at Sea has officially announced a talent search for performers to join the entertainment lineup at “Same Boat,” a new live music venue developed with three-time GRAMMY Award winner Zac Brown aboard the upcoming Beachcomber cruise ship.
And yes… this is real. Pack sunscreen.
🎸 A Floating Stage Inspired By A Hit Song
The venue takes its name from Zac Brown Band’s fan-favorite anthem “Same Boat,” built around themes of connection, storytelling and the kind of laid-back authenticity that makes strangers sing along like they’ve known each other since last hurricane season.
The cruise line is seeking singer-songwriters, solo artists, duos, trios and full bands capable of delivering intimate, acoustic-driven performances in a professionally produced lounge-style setting.
Translation:
If you can play, connect with a crowd and not spill a margarita on the soundboard, you might have a shot.
Artists can submit audition videos now, with selected performers invited to live auditions in Nashville from May 12–16, including a final open casting call on Broadway. Artists interested in participating, including singer-songwriters, solo artists, duos, trios, and bands, can submit audition materials, including a performance video, via email to livemusic@margaritaville.com or via www.margaritavilleatsea.com/same-boat-showcase. Submissions are now open.
🏆 Zac Brown’s Legacy Of Hits And Awards
This opportunity isn’t tied to just any country artist casually lending his name to a cruise.
Zac Brown Band has built one of the most successful modern country careers, scoring multiple Billboard Hot Country Songs No.1 hits including:
- “Chicken Fried”
- “Toes”
- “Colder Weather”
- “Keep Me In Mind”
They’ve also taken home three GRAMMY Awards, including Best New Artist — proving their crossover appeal and relentless touring work ethic paid off in a massive way.
Working in a venue shaped by that legacy could be a serious credibility boost for emerging musicians.
🌴 The Margaritaville Machine Keeps Growing
Let’s also take a moment to acknowledge the sheer scale of the Margaritaville universe.
What started as Jimmy Buffett singing about beach bars and lost shakers of salt has evolved into:
- major resort hotels
- entire residential communities
- restaurants in multiple countries
- now… full cruise ships
It’s honestly one of the most impressive lifestyle brand expansions in music history.
And for anyone who grew up in the Florida Keys, being a Jimmy Buffett fan isn’t optional. It’s practically a residency requirement.
🚢 A New Ship, A New Opportunity
Beginning in 2027, Beachcomber will sail from PortMiami on 4–8 night Caribbean itineraries, featuring more than 15 new venues designed to create a full-scale floating entertainment experience.
Performers selected through the talent search can land weekly, bi-weekly or monthly contracts, offering a unique way to build stage experience while performing for international audiences.
Not a bad office view, honestly.
